Thanksgiving Services 2013

The Chief Apostle and President has been given the following texts for his teachings at the 2013 Thanksgiving Services:- Psalm 29 vs11; John 17 vs 6 onwards; Malachi 3 vs 7 - 10.

Psalm 29:11 reads "The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace" (NKJV)

This raises the question as to who are God's people? John 17 throws light on this question. Vs 6 reads "I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of this world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept your word". Jesus was praying for His Disciples, not the Apostles.

There were 12 Apostles given to Him, but only 11 Disciples for although Judas was an Apostle,  he was never a Disciple. (Vs 12 reads " Those whom You gave Me I have kept and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled"). This shows that the 11 Disciples were Jesus' people, whom He had been sent to save. In the same way, God's people are not mankind in general, but those who have accepted the Apostles of Jesus Christ. But this goes further.

There is another limitation, that set out in Malachi 3. To be a person of God, you must love your God. Malachi 3 vs 7 and 8 read as follows:- Yet from the days of your fathers You have gone away from My ordinances And have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you, Says the Lord of hosts. But you said In what way shall we return? Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me,  But you say  in what way have we robbed You? In tithes and offerings.

If you do not pay your tithes in full and make offerings to God, you are robbing Him, and if you rob your God, you cannot love Him and if you do not love your God, you are not one of His people. Malachi 3 vs 10 tells us to pay our tithes into God's storehouse, not to the Deacon, not to the Priest or Community Elder, nor the District Elder or Overseer, nor yet to the Apostle but into God's storehouse, which is controlled by the Chief Apostle. When you comply with this, then you are one of God's people and will receive His Power and the peace promised in the Psalm.
