Summary of Sermon on 16 December 2012, part 3

Belief and Faith sermon,

part 3

The sermon continued with a comparison between people who walk in flesh and those who walk in Spirit. People who walk in flesh are often filled with stress and are offended by things that they have seen. People who walk in Spirit only see people around them even if there is no one there because they have the Word which makes them see everything in their hands. A Believer will never be lonely for the Word that gives wisdom to live on earth goes with him. When you visit the house of a person that walks in flesh, you see medications and they see those medications as the only cure, for they walk in flesh not in Spirit. Even the wife that you have is from God. Even if a man comes to rent her for 2 weeks, you do not give up for she will come back to you for God has given her to you.

God leased land to the Amorites and they gave birth to children on that land and they were happy there. Then God said that they (the Israelites) must return to the land that He had given to them. It is like your wife who was taken by a stranger. God knows what He gave to you. He wants you to fight for what is yours. The Devil is the one who allows these strangers to start renting your wives for he (Satan) gave them promises about things that are not even his, in the same way as he gave Jesus the promise of all the riches in the world.

God told the Israelites that he had given them the land on purpose. They had to fight and take the land back through faith. They had hope for something that they did not have and which was unseen, but they had to go and fight for what was rightfully theirs. These men had nothing but they trusted in the Word and went out to fight.

How many men cannot do the work of God because they are afraid of their wives? How many wives cannot do the work of God because they are afraid of their husbands? He who fights and looses his life shall gain it and he who wants to win his life shall loose it.

When you have faith, you sacrifice belief. Do away with belief and have faith for you cannot live with both of them, for belief leads to faith.

Once you are in this Church and you have received the Holy Spirit, you no longer belong to the person who called you to join, you belong to God. If your life is in God, you do not care about what people are saying, you just go to the promised land. The owner of the place is you and you are born of love and love is God, therefore you are the love of God. Why do you not feel the love of God. God has done so by giving us His only Son. Through faith, Joshua who had trust in God left everything and went straight to the field to fight.

The good leader is the messenger of love, the messenger of mercy and once you leave these, you have lost all the three words that you use when praying, that is God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. When you are an officer, you open the Holy Spirit in you to clean away all the dirt that was in you.

Through faith, Joshua took the nation of Israel to the land that God had promised them. When you have faith, you trust in the Word of God and act on it even if it is hard. If God says “Go out of Egypt”, you must leave Egypt and follow Him. Take the word of your Officer and not find excuses for not obeying him. The person who acts like this is a true leader of God. A man of God checks if what he is doing will bring love, mercy or grace, for that is his weapon. If you are not in the Word of God, you do not have love and if you are not in the Son, who is forgiveness and the Holy Spirit that is grace, you have nothing. It is through grace that we are saved. Faith is to believe in things that are not seen.

To be continued, Ed.
